Beatles - Help (2 dvd) ($23.99) [After 'A Hard Day's Night,' They did it in less than a year. Another comedy directed by Richard Lester. This time it's more than a musical but a very british sit-com full of Beatle gags. They were extremely funny and full of wit, they played themselved being in an adventure/ action movie and it worked perfectly. They were loaded most all the time too, but that doesn't mean they weren't having fun. Ringo claims he doesn't remember a second of the shooting because he was loaded most all the time. Nevertheless, he played extremely well for 'Ticket To Ride' and 'You're Gonna Lose That Girl.' John was in his 'Fat Elvis' phase, depressed of all the fame and fortune he had and not being able to express himself completely. ]

Bob Dylan - Other Side of the Mirror: Live At Newport Folk Fes ($14.99) [Few performances in history are as legendary - or as controversial - as Bob Dylan's 1965 appearance at the Newport Folk Festival. In a single, galvanizing instant, Dylan plugged an entire generation in, forever changing not only the way the music was made, but the way it was heard. By putting you in the audience for Dylan's Newport performances from 1963 through that pivotal set in 1965, Academy Award-winning director Murray Lerner's The Other Side Of The Mirror captures Dylan's metamorphosis from the folk family's best-kept secret to rock's fiercely confrontational poet who would electrify an entire nation and become the voice of his generation.]

Franti Michael & Spearhead - 911 Power to the Peaceful '05 ($16.99) [When the attacks of September 11th, 2001 occurred, the festival took on a new significance, serving both as a day of remembrance for the lives lost in the tragedy as well as a day in which Northern Californians called for and end to all bombing around the globe. The 2002 and 2003 events offered a space for healing and compassion for all the people killed or displaced by terrorism and the war on terrorism. In 2004 the festival was themed 'Stand up and be Counted,' encouraging people to get out and vote. 2005's festival, themed 'Bring 'Em Home,' emphasized that the best way to support our troops is to bring them home now, and drew upwards of 50,000 attendees participating in a day of music, art and social justice.]

Hives - Black And White Album ($9.99) [It's about time some authority finally declared the Hives the greatest live band in the world. And The Black and White Album, their third U.S. full-length, as a jaw-dropping facsimile of a band leaping and lurching live, three feet from your face. Big backing vocals, propulsive rhythms, and twin-guitar thickness, will have you convinced the Swedish quintet is playing live inside your head. Yes, the trope of 'Tick Tick Boom'--Black and White's first single--has come up in rock before (P.O.D., Saliva). But the Hives do the exploding 'Boom' thing leaner, Pelle Almquist leading massed-vocal choruses and bright, fist-raised guitars--meshing upstart garage punk and sheer pop style. ]

Killers - Sawdust ($12.99) [Sawdust includes 'All The Pretty Faces' (which was the b-side of 'When You Were Young'); two movie soundtrack tunes, 'Shadowplay' (a Joy Division cover from Control, Anton Corbijn's biopic of Ian Curtis) and 'Move Away' (from Spiderman 3); as well as a cover of Kenny Rogers & The First Edition's 'Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town' (written by Mel Tillis) The collection will also contain songs which weren't completed for Hot Fuss and Sam's Town. The Killers recently went back into the studio to finish the tracks, including 'Tranquilize' featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Lou Reed. ]

Led Zeppelin - Mothership ($15.99) [The 24 tracks on Mothership and the final fullness of the new Song Remains the Same reissue. For its part, Mothership's crisper, warmer audio owes its heft to the troika of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, who helped oversee the mastering, bringing out untold shades even in the throes of 'Heartbreaker' and the sinews of 'No Quarter.' It's an impressive sonic leap. Where tinny high-ends and muffled lows used to co-exist, fatter and louder depths prevail. It's ever more astonishing that Zep got on with just four blokes. You can quibble with the 24 tracks here (where's 'The Ocean'?), but the band picked each track here, from the stone-cold locks ('Communication Breakdown' and 'Stairway to Heaven,' no, duh) to the robust throb of 'When the Levee Breaks.' As for 'The Ocean,' you can find that in fantastically full form.]

Seal - System ($13.99) [The first studio album in four years from Seal, System, with it's shimmering melodies, layers of synths and acoustic guitar, and electronic beats, is a return to my roots says the singer-songwriter. To help him deliver a more dance oriented album, what he calls a quintessential Seal album, Seal turned to Stuart Price(Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor and Grammy-winning remixes for No Doubt and Coldplay). ]

Soundtrack - I'm Not There / O.S.T. ($14.99) [Featuring songs from and inspired by one of the year's most wildly-anticipated films, the double-CD I'm Not There collection premieres new interpretations of Bob Dylan songs performed by an eclectic cavalcade of acclaimed and celebrated contemporary musicians including Eddie Vedder, Sonic Youth, Jim James, Stephen Malkmus, Cat Power, Jack Johnson, Sufjan Stevens, John Doe, Karen O, Iron & Wine, Mason Jennings, Jeff Tweedy, Willie Nelson, Antony, Los Lobos, Yo La Tengo, Mark Lanegan, Rambin' Jack Elliot, Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova and more. ]
