Band of Horses - Cease to Begin ($12.99) [With a voice that lands somewhere between the euphoria of Brian Wilson and the anguish of the late Chris Bell (Big Star), Bridwell (and core mates Rob Hampton and Creighton Barrett) appears a modern archetype behind a playlist that teeters among tender ('No One's Gonna Love Me,' 'Window Blues'), twang ('Marry Song,' 'Detlef Schrempf'), and turbulent ('Cigarettes, Wedding Bands,' the aforementioned 'Is There a Ghost'). Using the same producer and regal m.o. as on the debut, Cease punctuates its magnitude among Sub Pop's top-drawer power elite (The Shins and Iron & Wine), asserting this Band of Horses' fast-rising run for the roses.]

JJ Cale - Rewind: the Unreleased Recordings ($12.99) [Rewind: Unreleased Recordings, a trove of previously unreleased songs recorded by American music icon J.J. Cale during his early and most influential years. Featuring vintage tracks from Cales legendary tenures at Shelter Records and Mercury Records, Rewind is a remarkable collection that exemplifies J.J. Cales distinctive, legendary style: laid-back guitar and almost whispered vocals with influences of rock n roll, country, blues and jazz. Not only are Rewinds eight Cale-penned songs a time capsule of musical treasures, he also personally selected several covers to include. Its extremely rare for Cale to record another songwriters material, making these songs particularly extraordinary. He puts his personal spin on Eric Claptons Golden Ring, Leon Russells My Cricket, Waylon Jennings Waymores Blues and Randy Newmans Rollin.]

Eric Clapton - Complete Clapton ($18.99) [Eric Clapton: his music, his story. 36 of Eric's greatest songs from 1968 to 2006 in one collection for the first time ever! This 36 selection multi-disc set features hits from 1968 to 2006 including 'Crossroads,' Badge,' 'Layla,' 'Tears In Heaven,' 'Change The World' and much more. ]

Marc Cohn - Join the parade ($13.99) [GRAMMY AWARD WINNER MARC COHN RETURNS WITH HIS FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN NEARLY A DECADE MARC COHN Join The Parade It has been nearly a decade since American singer/songwriter Marc Cohn last released a studio album. It has been fifteen years (1992) since he won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Best known for his colossal hit 'Walking In Memphis,' JOIN THE PARADE is the product of a personal journey. A recording of 10 songs that share a common theme woven from both Cohn's empathic observations after Hurricane Katrina and from a 2005 incident during which the singer found himself the victim of a carjacking in Denver, which left him with a gunshot wound to the head. JOIN THE PARADE is introspective.]

Cult - Born Into This ($12.99) [Legendary Alternative Rock band The Cult return with all guns blazing on their eighth studio album 'Born Into This', their first in six years. Reminiscent of earlier works 'Love' and 'Electric', the album sees the band returning to their rock roots while embracing several modern sonic elements in many of the songs. With 'Born Into This', The Cult have created an album that not only speaks to their rabid fanbase, but seeks to put them squarely back on the map as one of the greatest straight-up rock & roll bands in the World. Quintessential Cult songs like 'Dirty Little Rockstar' and 'I Assasin' and their enormous hooks will allow them to do just that. Produced by Youth (Killing Joke, The Verve) and mixed by Clive Goddard (Primal Scream, Madonna), the album is instantly recognizable Cult from Billy Duffy's first guitar chord to the first notes that escapes Ian Astbury's lips. A classic album from The Cult that features everything the band is known-for: groove-laden guitar riffs, searing leads, giant choruses, soaring vocals and a whole load of attitude.]

Mikey Hart/Zakir Hussain - Global Drum Project (Snys) ($12.99) [Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart's innovative Planet Drum CD convened some of the world's finest drum talent for a collaboration that won the very first GRAMMY for world music -- bringing together Nigerian drum legend Babatunde Olatunji, Indian tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain, Nigerian talking drum ace Sikiru Adepoju, and Puerto Rico's master conguero Giovanni Hidalgo, among others. Fifteen years later, the musical partnership of Hart and Hussain -- which began with their groundbreaking 1970s world fusion experiment Diga Rhythm Band -- resumes, with a fresh collaboration of tranced-out grooves, elegant electronic programming and hypnotic tuned percussion and again enlists the great partnership of Adepoju and Hidalgo. This time they are joined by Taufiq Qureshi on percussion & vocals, Niladari Kumar on sitar, Dilshad Khan on sarangi, and the late, great Olatunji in sampled vocals from the original sessions. ]

Iron & Wine - Shepherd's Dog ($11.99) [On The Shepherd's Dog this integration is complete. Sam Beam has confessed to finding spiritual inspiration in Tom Waits' pice de rsistance, Swordfishtrombones, an album with which Waits upended his previous strategies and forged a new musical language for himself. Recorded by Sam with the assistance of longtime producer Brian Deck and engineer Colin Studebaker, The Shepherd's Dog succeeds in accomplishing a similar cathartic recasting of the artist's intentions. The arrangements here are kaleidoscopic and rich. 'White Tooth Man' rocks with a desperate, menacing intensity while 'Boy with a Coin', the album's first single, is darkly playful with a handclap hook tumbling under its cascading melody. The whole album breathes. Its seductive rhythms percolate and undulate, from the Psych-Bhangra-redux of 'Pagan Angel and a Borrowed Car' to the album's last dance a waltz 'Flightless Bird, American Mouth'. Compositionally, it is Iron and Wine's most ambitious and accomplished recording to date. It s also the most satisfying. ]

Joni Mitchell - Shine ($13.99) [Joni Mitchell is generally considered to be the single most important female singer-songwriter of the 20th Century. Her new CD features 10 great new songs that resonate on the level of some of her all-time classic work, with much of the material inspired by Jonis passion to save the environment. Her lyrics on the subject are truly inspiring. Mitchell's songwriting shines brightest at such singularly poignant moments where specificity of images meets the vagaries of the instrumental arrangements, and, in the end, these and other highlights ('Bad Dreams,' 'Night of the Iguana') definitively carry the torch.]

Ramones - It's Alive 1974-1996 (2PC) ($14.99) [Punk forefathers Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, Tommy, Marky, Richie, and C-Jay Ramone outlasted almost every one of their legions of followers. For over twenty years, they delivered their signature garage-flavored, ear-shattering chainsaw level and pop-skewed sound through a string of now-classic, loud-and-fast punk rock LPs, and 2,263 concerts together. This new two DVD set captures the essence of the legendary racket they made with over four hours of rare and previously unreleased live footage that's the closest you can get to experiencing this blitzkrieg of a band. From their earliest performances at lower Manhattan's CBGBs to international festivals in front of hundreds of thousands of fans, IT'S ALIVE 1974-1996 is your VIP ticket to the Ramones. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, the band may be gone, but their sound and influence are indestructible. ]
