Eric Clapton & JJ Cale - Road to Escondido ($13.99) [After years of admiring each other's musical masterworks, guitar great J.J. Cale and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer/Grammy-winner Eric Clapton have teamed up to create an original album together called The Road to Escondido. The resulting hybrid sound defies labels, and instead finds influence across the spectrum of blues, rock, country, and fold. The songs are warm and rich with deep-flowing rhythms while using an economy of words to express much. ]

Cowboy Junkies - Long Journey Home ($13.99) [Recorded and filmed at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in England at the end of their 2004 tour, Long Journey Home is one of the strongest performances the Cowboy Junkies have ever put on tape. The album and DVD feature stunning renditions of Junkies classics such as 'Sweet Jane' and 'Misguided Angel' along with recent favorites like 'Notes Falling Slow' and 'He Will Call You Baby,' plus several inspired cover songs, including a sublime version of Neil Young's 'Helpless.' Long Journey Home is a testament to why the Cowboy Junkies have remained one of the most original and important bands of the past 20 years.]

Lady Sovereign - Public Warning ($8.99) [as the 5-foot-1 rapper asserts, 'I'm the biggest midget in the fame.' Wicked, irreverent, smart, and full of self-depreciating humor, this queen of grime rap pillages her autobiography on 'Those Were the Days,' deconstructs nationalism on 'My England,' raids Mother Goose on 'Public Warning,' and then drops a gauntlet with a loud clattering sound, making listeners laugh out loud with the snotty, but laughable challenge of 'Love Me or Hate Me.' But mostly she keeps things moving, throwing off sparks and bon mots with her mad, furious, in-your-face flow, while adding a bit of glam and new wave to the electro hip-hop beats.]

Dave Matthews Band - Best of whats around Vol 1 ($14.99) [Few bands release more albums than DMB, which speaks volumes to their enthusiastic fan base. With annual live albums, it would appear DMB has pretty well covered the bases as far as their music goes, but with the release of The Best of What's Around, Vol.1, the fans have chosen the tracks they love the most to appear on one double-disc. It makes for interesting listening, and is a solid pick-up for fans and those trying to navigate through the multitude of DMB releases.]

Willie Nelson - Songbird ($11.99) [For better and for worse, this trans-generational pairing of Willie Nelson and producer Ryan Adams takes the veteran into musical territory where he wouldn't have likely ventured on his own. There's long been an organic unity to Nelson's signature sound--the way his conversational phrasing plays against the staccato runs of his gypsy guitar, with the backing of a band that's been with him so long he calls them Family. ]

Sugarland - Enjoy The Ride ($11.99) [Sugarland, with the help of producer Byron Gallimore (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack), deliver the same ferocity on Enjoy The Ride. From the catchy coming-of-age kick-off single and chart-topping 'Want To,' to the reflective rocker 'County Line' and the hopelessly optimistic 'One Blue Sky,' the combination of Jennifer's powerhouse country-soul voice with Kristian's passionate harmonies and deep-rooted musicality hits home, even if these two road veterans, each with a decade of club experience behind them, hardly ever see theirs. ]
