Audioslave - Revelations
($12.99) [I think these guys get better with each album and Revelations is another step up for Audioslave. If they wrote there self titled disc over and over again wouldn't it get boring, instead we get something different and exciting on each release.]
Miles Davis - Cool & Collected
($15.99) [album features 13 of the most recognizable and melodic highlights from one of the most influential, most innovative and coolest musicians of the 20th century. Includes 'It's About That Time' - Remix featuring Carlos Santana.]
Bob Dylan - Modern Times
($12.99) [Since Time Out Of Mind, us Dylan fans can be proud again to admit that we're fans of the new stuff, not just classic Dylan. Modern Times is his third release in a streak of impeccable material. The latest is a return to the styles Dylan introduced in Love and Theft-- blues and rockabilly. As with that album, Dylan (aka Jack Frost) produced Modern Times. Here, the songs are longer, the lyrics arguably more memorable and there's a few more down-tempo ballads.]
Govt Mule - High & Mighty
($11.99) [It's invigorating to hear such a wide disparity between the music of Gov't Mule and the trusty blues/Southern rock of guitarist Warren Haynes's other full-time project, the Allman Brothers Band. Rooted firmly in the '70s riff-based power assault of bands such as Free, Mountain, and Humble Pie, with Haynes's gruff yet soulful vocals front and center, the Mule plow through 72 minutes of meat-and-potatoes, tougher-than-leather rock with the determination of their ornery moniker.]
Iron Maiden - Matter of Life & Death (W/DVD) (DLX)
($11.99) [This album is simply amazing. It is epic. It is beautiful. It has a live edge because of the recording. This album does indeed grow on you, like no other I have ever heard. I can't believe how good this album is given that this is their 14th... they really made a classic album here... UP THE IRONS!A limited edition CD plus a DVD.]
Lamb Of God - Sacrament
($12.99) [The sound is amazing it has this southern rock vibe mixed with some heavy metal. Randy has really steped it up on the vocals side of the cd and at times he try's to have the phil anselmo approach. The other's in the band have also stepped it up with some crazy guitar riffs and the drums are sweet. This is a Must Buy for any true fans of LOG and if you like metal..]
Ray Lamontagne - Till the sun turns black
($12.99) [Ray Lamontagne has defied the odds and has turned his second CD into an eclectic mix of tunes that are awe-inspiring. He has been able to open up his wounds so to speak and displays them with minimum words. It is impossible not to feel an instant rapport with Ray LaMontagne. His whispered singing invites us closer to hear each word, and the musical delivery is smooth as silk. The tunes are beautiful and rich, and we hear in them the pain and the oft times joy that invade his soul. and then ours.]
Old Crow Medicine Show Soundtrack - Big Iron World
($12.99) [As the images of Hank Williams, Bob Dylan and Sun-era Elvis floating in the background might indicate, this Nashville band is strictly old school, singing about unemployed riverboat workers, covering Woody Guthrie and plucking banjos like there was no tomorrow. Produced by David Rawlings, Big Iron World boasts the expected barnstormers ('Cocaine Habit') and late-night meditations ('God's Got It') alongside a handful of folkie sing-a-longs ('Down Home Girl') and a thoroughly unexpected reference to Karl Rove. And where else are you going to hear songstress Gillian Welch banging away on the drums?]
Roots - Game Theory
($11.99) [Despite their signing to Def Jam, on Game Theory the Roots head in a direction opposite from all the trendy, commercial formulas that the label has pioneered. This is as intensely a 'Roots album' as anything they've put out, the rightful sequel to their brilliant, creative Phrenology ]
