Avenged Sevenfold - City Of Evil ($11.99) [Shattering preconceptions of punk and metal, Avenged Sevenfold blazes a bold new path with its debut major label album, City of Evil. Fusing punk with melody, metal intensity with an adventurous spirit, the drama and darkness of A7X moves effortlessly from his powerful vocal punch to thick cascading melodies, from loud and fast to epic. Influenced by everyone from Pantera, Metallica and Iron Maiden to Bad Religion, Misfits, Guns 'N Roses, prog-metal and experimental rock, Avenged Sevenfold seeks its own musical vengeance with City of Evil. ]

Black Eyed Peas - Monkey business ($11.99) [As with their last hit, Elephunk, Black Eyed Peas' new disc Monkey Business is a joyful cross-genre journey with musical props to hip-hop, rock, folk, funk, and pop. The reason the Black Eyed Peas have audience appeal that crosses over many styles is because the band members are such obvious fans of diverse music. Nowhere is this more apparent than on Monkey Businesss high-profile guest list]

Dream Theater - Octavarium ($16.89) [Dream Theater has maintained a rare combination of stellar musicianship and unwavering passion for over a decade, selling millions of albums and filling concert venues worldwide. The band once again confirms its status as progressive hard rock's standard-bearers on their latest studio epic, Octavarium. ]

Gorillaz - Demon Days ($13.99) [A side project doesnt usually hit gold, especially when said project is a quirky virtual collective fronted by cartoon characters. But the first, self-titled album by Gorillaz--the brainchild of illustrator Jamie Hewlett and Blur frontman Damon Albarn--actually hit platinum and turned into a surprise worldwide hit. Naturally expectations were a lot higher for Gorillaz's sophomore effort, but Demon Days actually is even better than its predecessor. With producer Dan 'the Automator' Nakamura gone, Albarn, a.k.a. 2D, has paired up with DJ Danger Mouse (responsible for the infamous Grey Album that illegally mixed the Beatles and Jay-Z) to steer the musical ship, while a whole new slew of guests enlivens the proceedings. Albarn has described Demon Days as being darker, but there's a real kooky dance-party vibe coursing through the CD.]

Oasis - Don't believe the truth ($12.99) [Oasis albums have always prompted flashbacks--Was that a Beatles melody? Is that chorus on loan from T. Rex? Wait, wasn't that a Crowded House song once? But the mouthy British group's latest really sounds like a pop artifact. Both in production and execution, Don't Believe The Truth feels like an album better suited to 1965 than 2005. From the tambourines and jangling guitars that chime in opening track 'Turn Up To The Sun' to the tinny pre-hippie philosophizing of 'Keep The Dream Alive,' it's an album that thinks the way forward is by looking back.]

Prine John - Fair & Square ($11.99) [John Prine takes his own sweet time dancing with his muse -- and truly writes what's in his soul. So if it takes him a little longer to write the songs that capture moments and reveal the gently folded human truths that bind us all together. It's always worth the wait. Now, nearly nine years since the release of his Grammy-nominated Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings, the iconic American writer has put the finishing touches on his latest offering, appropriately titled, Fair & Square. 'It was just time,' says Prine in his always understated way. 'I had a bunch of songs. I'd started recording them, and it turns out, I liked them pretty well. So, now, I get to get them all just the way I like them - and then I get to let them go out to meet the world.' ]

System Of A Down - Mezmerize ($12.99) [This is amazing! System of a Down never stop making incredible music. Even Steal This Album! was pretty good considering that album was made up of songs that weren't 'good enough' for their other CD's. The first song I heard by them was Chop Suey! and after that I was hooked. Their self-titled album was awesome and so was Toxicity. Now, we've got Mezmerize. Definitley different from their previous stuff (Not in a bad way though), this album stuck to me right after I had heard Soldier Side- Intro. Every song is unique in its own way. ]

White Stripes - Get behind me Satan ($12.99) [Their fifth album, Get Behind Me Satan is the strangest and least focused effort by these unlikely garage rock superstars to date. It's also their finest, an Exile on Main Street-ish mish-mash where the sum is greater than the parts. In a market increasingly driven by singles and downloads, it's nice to be reminded how exciting an album can be, especially one where you really don't know what to expect next. There are a lot fewer pounding guitars on this album. They've largely been replaced by pounding pianos.]

DVD-Audio is a similiar technology that is playable on *most* standard DVD players. Recordings on DVD-Audio are often availble in 2-channel, DTS, and multi-channel playback modes. Here are some recent SACD and DVD-Audio releases we have got in. We have a huge selection of these, and other titles available. Stop by and ask us about them or visit our website for more info.
